What's involved in building a website?
Website estimates can vary widely based upon the complexity of the project. In general, we like to tell our clients to think of buying a website design like buying a car, and in similar price ranges. You can get a basic model to get you from here to there for about $10K, or a luxury version with all the bells and whistles for $60K and more. Most companies land on something in between. Whatever you choose, KBD's collaborative process has the same basic phases:

Phase 1: Planning
- URL purchase and host selection
- Google analytics account setup
- Use of grayscreen prototype to collaboratively determine content, site map, user experience and site navigation
- Copyediting of content to best tell corporate story
Phase 2: Content, Design & Development
- Carry through new brand elements and imagery into site design comps:
- Creation of templated standard Drupal or Wordpress pages based on approved site mockups
- Content entry
- CMS Training for project team (can be done concurrently with content entry)
- Multimedia production: creation of flash page for home, possible product demo
- Site optimization
- QA
- Beta test site before live roll
Phase 3: Search engine optimization & social networking
- Work with existing PR/marketing team to generate excitement about web launch
- Social networking: Facebook & Twitter pages
- Implementation of Google analytics
- Development of email news template
- YouTube page, Flickr photo group
Phase 4: Relationship
- Ongoing consultation to ensure website evolves along with company
