Katie Bush, founder and creative director, has been working in marketing communications and design for over 17 years. Before founding KBD in 2000, Katie held positions as Design Director for Michael Patrick Partners in Palo Alto, CA and Marketing Design Director for the Hi-Tech Group of CMP Media in San Francisco. She has also been a designer for Gumas Communications in San Francisco and Greer, Margolis, Mitchell and Burns in Washington, DC. She holds a BFA degree from Georgetown University, and is one of the founding members of the Georgetown Tech Alliance. She's a member of AIGA and the founder of Friends of Bloom, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to building a new playground at Bloom Elementary in Louisville, KY.

 

John Kinsella, technical lead, brings over 15 years experience in information security and development. His wide range of experience includes security architecture design, penetration testing, system hardening, global security operations and incident response. Practicing his mantra that security professionals need a wide range of experience, he is also an accomplished Drupal developer, with a large portfolio of Drupal-based web and commerce sites in his portfolio. John’s knowledge and experience has been referenced by the media, appearing in Time Magazine, InformationWeek, Tech Target and KPIX.  John is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), is on the board of directors for the Silicon Valley chapter of the Cloud Security Association, and is a contributing member of the Drupal Association.

 

Randy Blevins, senior designer, is a marketing, public relations and design professional with over 15 years of experience. As the former Marketing Director at Actors Theatre of Louisville and Director of Brand Management at Broadway Across America, he was heavily involved with the development and implementation of new brand identity systems for both organizations. Mr. Blevins is currently working as a consultant in the area of marketing communications as he completes his MBA at Bellarmine University. Most recently he was the co-chair of the 2010 Beaux Arts Ball, a fundraising event that benefits a local arts organization and the Kentuckiana chapter of Volunteers of America.

 

 

David Stewart, senior web designer, has been working with Katie since 1995. David has had a long career in graphic design and has held positions as senior designer for Applied Biosystems and Loudcloud Inc., as well as senior designer for Michael Patrick Partners in Palo Alto, CA and Gwen Francis Design Group in Los Altos. David and Katie met when they were both young designers for Gumas Communications in San Francisco. David holds a BS in Graphic Design from San Jose State University.
